What does health mean to you?
Does health mean your ability to get through your day pain free? Or to be able to be present for your children and support them in their daily life and growth? Is it being able to connect with your partner, family and friends with joy and love? Does is it mean being able to show up to work with energy and motivation to do the best job you can at work? Or does it mean living the best life you can with a debilitating chronic illness and making the best of everyday?
To me, health is the difference between thriving and surviving. Health is not the absence of disease but the ability to bring a sense of joy to your life so you can connect with those you love, bring more meaning and abundance to your work and be a part of your community your are surrounded by.
This kind of health does not come in a bottle nor from a procedure and in my unapologetic opinion, modern medicine does not promote health. This kind of health comes from your life story and how you live your life.
Medicine is more than treatment
I approach healing through a mind/body/spirit connection that reaches beyond the actual treatment. I believe illness and medicine are transformative experiences.
This means that the physical treatment itself, whether it is herbs, acupuncture, or bodywork, is the smallest part of healing.
The most important part of our time together is an exploration of your body, mind and spirit as a whole.
It is about relationship.
It is me listening to you where you are at and providing you with new knowledge and experiences you can take to move forward in your healing.
It is about your story. It is about transformation.
I know from my own chronic illness and cancer recovery that treatments are important but it is the inner work that truly heals. I want to help you through that transformation just as others have done for me.
East Asian Medicine, the 5 Elements and Taoist philosophy are the foundation of my practice both in treatment and coaching. It is a unique holistic perspective for transformation.
I am a healer, scientist, and teacher
I use the principles of science, the art of health and healing and my intuitive senses to provide a whole-person experience in your journey of health.
I listen to you without judgment but with deeper skills to hear what your body, mind and spirit may be trying to say.
Together we explore you. Not your illness. While symptoms will be addressed and reduced or eliminated, you will walk away with a deeper sense of yourself. It is about transformation.
I am a teacher, an accountability coach, a motivator for transformation and a lover of deep meaning and inner work that helps a person heal from the inside out.
Through my formal training and my life experiences, my talent lies in being able to see the whole person in body, mind and spirit to help them move into true healing by digging deep through gentle motivation, kindness, compassion and true partnership.
Why work with me?
I have crafted a blend of acupuncture, mind/body techniques, education and exercises for self-care and self-discovery. This innovative, integrated approach helps patients to relieve their pain, cultivate their vitality, deepen their relationship with themselves, and ultimately manifest their unique individual potential.
I am a Licensed and Board Certified Practitioner of Chinese Medicine which includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and bodywork in Denver, Colorado, and hold a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado. I am a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, board-certified through the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
My acupuncture technique expands beyond TCM and includes Tan/Tung distal needling, extraordinary meridian needling, and abdominal and channel palpation diagnosis (Kiiko Matsumoto and Wang Ju Yi) and treatment giving the patient results quickly whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual pain.
My Mission
is to work with patients and other healthcare professionals in optimizing health and wellness in body, mind and spirit through the integration of East Asian Medicine with other modalities like modern medicine in treating chronic illness and pain.
My goal
is to help patients with a chronic illness connect with a personal sense of purpose and inspiration during their journey in health, rather than simply treating the disease and individual symptoms. East Asian Medicine is founded in “Yang Sheng Fa”, The Art of Nourishing Life. Nourishing life is about the person and not the illness. It is about transformation and healing from the inside out in body, mind and spirit.
My role
is to educate patients so they have the tools to sustain health on their own with minimal intervention and maximum quality of life. As William H Mayo said, "The ideal of medicine is to eliminate the need for a physician."
I am here
for people who want to integrate more than one system of medicine in their healthcare journey and would like to expand knowledge of their body and mind beyond modern biomedicine alone.
Health is not a destination, but a journey called “life.”
